Textured paintings

My name is Cara Voutsas.

I am an independent artist in Port Reading, New Jersey; who wants to share my art with the world. After many years of painting and creating pieces, I have decided to share my passion, and my technique with everyone.                                             

I create textured paintings with specific mediums or thick paint itself. My creations vary from color gradation, to a chaotic and/or rhythmic flow of colors and texture.

I make original pieces of art. Not one piece is the same. 

Every piece created, is a unique and expressive picture of my imagination.

Each piece is heavily textured with a medium and/or paint. 

This technique is called Impasto Painting.                                          

Impasto is a technique used in painting, where the paint is laid on an area of the surface thickly, usually thick enough that the brush or painting-knife strokes are visible. 

Paint can also be mixed right onto the canvas. Impasto provides texture; the paint appears to be coming out of the canvas.

We all have seen at least one impasto painting and may not have realized it.

Claude Monet, created the famous Japanese Bridge and Waterlilies', and Vincent Van Gogh painted Starry Night, both of which are well associated with their names.
